Emergency plug for electric cars

An electric or plug-in vehicle will not turn off if you release the clutch and cannot hear the engine running.

An electric or plug-in vehicle will not turn off if you release the clutch and cannot hear the engine running. Unlike a petrol or diesel car. The engine only switches off when involved in a violent impact or collision, provided that the safety systems are working. A rescuer is unable to know whether the effect caused by the impact or the "kinetic energy" was sufficient to turn off the engine and whether the safety systems actually worked. The technology of an electric car is already so advanced that the engine turns on when the driver sits in the driving seat. Often no key or button is needed to turn it on and off. In this situation it is impossible for the rescuer to predict it. The victim may unconsciously or knowingly press the accelerator pedal while the vehicle is still in motion. The car will respond immediately and no one will hear it. Since an electric vehicle has enormous torque, it is almost impossible to block the wheels; the situation is becoming more and more dangerous; there is a high risk of serious injury and even death.
